"For more than 30 years, Crittenton Services for Children and Families has been a leader in the care and successful recovery of severely abused and troubled boys and girls. The children are all court placements. Crittenton provides residential treatment and treatment for foster care for up to 200 children at a time (currently there are 120 boys and girls from birth to 18 years of age). They also provide counseling services for their families.  Cookie Mom’s Auxiliary is a group of women and men that volunteer their time to make a difference in these children’s lives. The auxiliary currently has 29 different groups that meet with the children on a monthly basis:  Baking cookies, making crafts, celebrating birthdays, tutoring, rocking babies, etc.

The Cookie Mom’s Auxiliary has been dreaming of someday having a family-style picnic for these children. This year, that dream will become a reality for these children. Thanks, in part, to a generous grant from Suburban.   Most of these children have never had or even been to a picnic at a park. Their hope is to make their first experience one they will never forget   We need club members to come out and show support.  If you come, let Liz Elsenpeter know you are present.  The youth group is also organizing some kids to come out and help."
